At Folly Beach Methodist Church, we believe Christ calls us to love, serve, and care for others as an expression of our faith. Through prayer, compassion, generosity, and hands-on ministry, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus—sharing His hope and love in our community, throughout our nation, and around the world. As we serve others, we strive to reflect God’s grace and make His presence known in the lives of those we encounter.

LOCAL:
FBMC Women’s Group
The Folly Beach Methodist Women meet on the second Monday of each month, September through May, at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship, a shared meal, a devotional, and a business meeting. Throughout the year, the group hosts a variety of fundraisers to support local and global missions, including their popular Spring Tea Party and Egg-My-Yard event, where treat-filled eggs are hidden in local yards for a donation. The women also share their care and appreciation by preparing a special gift for every woman in the church on Mother’s Day.
FBMC Men’s Group
The Folly Beach Methodist Men gather at the church on the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. for breakfast, fellowship, and an engaging guest speaker. The group is actively involved in local mission work, including the Beds = Dreams program, helping assemble and deliver beds to children in need. To support these outreach efforts, the men host their annual Brats and Boiled Peanuts fundraiser each summer.
Ronald McDonald House
Through our partnership with the local Ronald McDonald House, we help provide care, comfort, and support to families facing the challenges of a child’s medical treatment. By helping remove everyday burdens and keeping families close to their children, this ministry offers hope, strengthens family bonds, and promotes healing—reflecting Christ’s love and compassion for those in need.
Beds = Dreams
We believe every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep. Through the Beds Equal Dreams ministry, we help provide beds and bedding to children who do not have a bed of their own, including many who are experiencing homelessness or living in transitional housing.
Volunteers come together for Build-A-Bed events, where we construct simple, sturdy bed frames using donated materials. Each child receives not only a new bed, but also a mattress, sheets, and a comforter—offering comfort, dignity, and the assurance that they are loved and cared for. Through this ministry, we seek to share Christ’s compassion and bring hope to children and families in need.
Soup Kitchen Ministries
Our congregation provides support to the Folly Beach Baptist Church Soup Kitchen with volunteers and food donations every Monday, September thru April. This ministry provides nutritious meals to seniors, shut-ins, and others in need while offering friendship, encouragement, and Christian fellowship. Through this partnership, we share God’s love in a practical way and help strengthen our community.
Back Pack School Supplies
During the holiday season and at the start of each school year, we help support local children and families by providing gifts, school supplies, and other essential items. Our goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to celebrate special occasions and begin the school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

Epworth Children’s Home
We proudly support Epworth’s mission of serving children, youth, and families through caring, safe, Christ-centered communities where healing is found, hope is restored, and faith in God, self, and others is strengthened. Through this partnership, we help create opportunities for lives to be transformed by God’s love, grace, and guidance.
NATIONAL:
Habitat for Humanity
We are honored to support Habitat for Humanity Charleston as they work to provide safe, affordable housing for families in our community. Through volunteer service, financial support, and faithful partnership, we help build not only homes, but also hope, stability, and brighter futures for our neighbors.
GLOBAL:
Palmetto International Missions
Folly Beach Methodist Church is blessed to share the love of Christ through missions both in the Lowcountry and around the world. We invite you to learn how God is at work through our congregation as we serve others and shine His light in our communities and beyond. FBMC supports an annual international mission trip to Honduras, working with families there to build stable homes in conjunction with Palmetto International Missions. We support this effort through prayers, fundraising, and sending missionaries to help lay block, dig foundations, and connect with the homeowners and their children in person.
